The La’s 386 by dek dav

The La’s 386, a tribute to the short lived but brilliant, britpop band The La’s, and their graphic cover art.The band signed to Go! Discs in 1987 and commenced recording of their debut album. Following the release of singles “Way Out” (1987), “There She Goes” (1988) and “Timeless Melody” (1990) and having aborted several recording sessions with different producers, the band released their debut album The La’s in 1990 to critical acclaim and modest commercial success. The group entered a prolonged hiatus in 1992 which lasted almost two decades. The group later reformed briefly in the mid-1990s, 2005 and 2011. However, no new recordings have been released.

Gone Girl 401 by dek dav

Gone Girl 401, inspired by the novel Gone Girl, written by Gillian Flynn“It really is true. It took this awful situation for us to realize it. Nick and I fit together. I am a little too much, and he is a little too little. I am a thornbush, bristling from the overattention of my parents, and he is a man of a million little fatherly stab wounds, and my thorns fit perfectly into them.”
― Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl

I Am Hated For Loving no.356 by dek dav

I Am Hated For Loving no.356, by Morrissey from the album Vauxhall and IAnd I am hated for loving
I am haunted for wanting
Anonymous call, a poison pen
A brick in the ah
A brick in the small of the back again
I still don’t belong
To anyone, I am mine

Mr. Brightside no.357 by dek dav

Mr. Brightside no.357, by The Killers from the album Hot FussI just can’t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it’s just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
Cause I’m Mr Brightside

Can’t Find My Way Home 382 by dek dav

Cant Find My Way Home 382, based on the classic hit by Blind Faith. A tribute to all Supergroups including Blind Faith, Traveling Wilburys, Bad Company and The Dirty MacThe album was released in the UK with a cover photo of an 11-year-old girl named Mariora Goschen. The cover photo because as famous as the album itself, since it showed Goschen naked and holding a model spaceship.

Bob Seidemann came up with the concept and took the photo, which represents humankind’s relationship with technology (this was when the mission to put a man on the moon was big news). The band wasn’t yet named, and when Seidemann took the photo, he called it “Blind Faith.” Clapton decided that should be the name of the band.

Gone Girl 384 by dek dav

Gone Girl 384, based on the David Fincher feature film Gone Girl.Men actually think this girl exists. Maybe they’re fooled because so many women are willing to pretend to be this girl. For a long time Cool Girl offended me. I used to see men – friends, coworkers, strangers – giddy over these awful pretender women, and I’d want to sit these men down and calmly say: You are not dating a woman, you are dating a woman who has watched too many movies written by socially awkward men who’d like to believe that this kind of woman exists and might kiss them. I’d want to grab the poor guy by his lapels or messenger bag and say: The bitch doesn’t really love chili dogs that much – no one loves chili dogs that much! -Gillian Flynn

Sub-Mission 398 by dek dav

Sub-Mission 398, based on the song from the Sex Pistols off the album Never Mind the BullocksSubmission going down down
Dragging me down
Submission I can’t tell ya what I’ve found

For there’s a mystery
Under the sea
And an octopus rock
Under the water
